Hurricane Safety Program (“we,” “us,” “our”) operates hurricanesafetyprogram.org (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
It applies to information collected through this Site, through forms you submit to us, and through phone, text, and email contact with us. It does not cover the practices of any third-party website we link to.
By using this Site, you agree to this policy. Please read it together with our Terms and Conditions.
2. Information We Collect
Information you give us. When you complete a form, request an assessment, or contact us:
- First and last name
- Email address
- Mobile and/or home phone number
- Property address, city, state, and ZIP code
- Details about your home and the upgrades you are interested in
- Your current home insurance cost range and your project timeline
- Anything else you choose to tell us
Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site:
- IP address
- Browser type and version
- Device type and operating system
- Pages viewed, time on page, and referring page
- Date and time of your visit
- Marketing attribution data, such as the campaign, source, or ad that brought you here
Consent records. When you opt in to receive communications, we record the date and time, the page or form used, your IP address, and the exact wording you agreed to. We keep this record as long as needed to show we complied with the law.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Respond to your inquiry and schedule your assessment
- Provide and manage the services you request
- Communicate with you about your project — scheduling, permits, inspections, installation, and completion
- Send you documents and agreements to review and sign
- Process payments and any financing application you choose to start
- Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site
- Understand how visitors use the Site and measure our advertising
- Send you promotional messages only where you have given us permission
- Detect and prevent fraud, and enforce our Terms
- Meet our legal and regulatory obligations
4. Mobile Information and Text Messaging
This section describes how we treat your mobile phone number and your consent to receive text messages. It applies in addition to, and overrides any conflict with, every other section of this policy.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Sharing with subcontractors or service providers strictly to support the services you requested — for example, the messaging platform that delivers our texts on our behalf — is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We never sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers or text messaging consent with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing use, under any circumstances.
When you provide your mobile number and opt in, we keep a record of that consent — the date, the time, the page or form used, your IP address, and the exact language you agreed to — for as long as required to demonstrate compliance with applicable law.
Consent to receive marketing text messages is optional. It is never a condition of buying any product or service from us.
You can withdraw consent at any time:
- Reply STOP to any text message from us
- Email help@hurricanesafetyprogram.org
- Call (888) 369-4536
See our SMS Terms of Service for the full program terms, including message frequency and rates.
5. How We Share Information
We share information only in the situations below.
Service providers and subcontractors. Companies that perform services for us — licensed subcontractors who perform work at your property, scheduling and customer relationship platforms, messaging and email providers, hosting providers, and payment processors. They may use your information only to perform services for us, and are not permitted to use it for their own marketing.
Financing partners. If you choose to apply for financing, we send the information needed to process your application to the independent lender you select. That lender handles your information under its own privacy policy and is not controlled by us.
Advertising and analytics providers. We work with providers who help us measure and improve our marketing. They may receive information about how you interact with our Site and our ads.
Legal and safety. We may disclose information where we believe in good faith it is necessary to comply with law, respond to a lawful request from public authorities, enforce our Terms, protect our rights or property, prevent fraud, or protect anyone’s personal safety.
Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of that transaction. We will give notice before your information becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy.
One exception applies to all of the above, without qualification: mobile phone numbers and text messaging opt-in data and consent are excluded from every category of sharing for marketing or promotional purposes, and are never sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing use. See Section 4.
6. We Do Not Sell Your Personal Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we have not sold personal information. We do not sell, rent, or otherwise make available mobile phone numbers or SMS consent data to any third party for that party’s own marketing purposes.
7. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies, pixels, web beacons, and similar technologies to run the Site, remember your preferences, understand how the Site is used, and measure our advertising.
Third-party advertising and analytics providers may also set cookies or use similar technologies when you visit. These are used to measure campaign performance and to personalize the ads you see. We do not control these third-party technologies, and this policy does not cover their own practices.
You can manage or block cookies in your browser settings. Doing so may affect how parts of the Site function. Most major advertising networks also offer their own opt-out tools.
8. Third-Party Websites
This Site may link to sites we do not operate. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices. Please review the privacy policy of any site you visit.
9. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information we collect. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. How Long We Keep Information
We keep your information as long as needed to provide the services you requested, meet our legal and recordkeeping obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Consent records are kept as long as required to demonstrate compliance with applicable law.
11. Your Choices and Rights
Text messages. Reply STOP to any message to opt out.
Email. Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or contact us directly.
Phone calls. Ask us to add you to our internal do-not-call list.
Access, correction, and deletion. You may ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email help@hurricanesafetyprogram.org. We will respond as required by applicable law. We may need to verify your identity first, and we may keep certain information where the law requires or permits it.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
12. Children’s Privacy
This Site is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email help@hurricanesafetyprogram.org and we will delete it.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the Effective Date at the top of this page. Please review it periodically. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
